Podbrežje, the New Zagreb Neighborhood
The new Podbrežje settlement is a joint project from the City of Zagreb, Zagreb Holding and Zagrebačka stanogradnja that addresses the housing question in Zagreb by building an entirely new neighborhood.
The plan for the occupied region consists of 11 residential and business buildings with a total of 1800 apartments, a culture center, two kindergartens, a pool and an elementary school. The neighborhood will be connected to the city center with a direct bus line and a railway station. Currently, the works are being finalized on four buildings and a public park, with the immediate plans to start the construction of kindergarten and elementary school.
